How the App Works

Step 1: Create Your Account

Registering on Wasal is simple, but not superficial. You sign up with your email, and the first thing we verify is your age — you must be over 18 with no exceptions, because Wasal is exclusively for serious adults looking for marriage. This verification happens in two steps: confirming your birth date at registration, and an additional check if you later try to edit it.

Step 2: Complete Your Profile

This is where you build your real identity. A Wasal profile is much deeper than "a name, photo, and short bio":

• Religious information: religion, sect, and commitment level — the foundation of any real compatibility on Wasal
• Residency type ("Diaspora Bridge"): where you see your future — abroad, back home, or open to either
• Lifestyle: education, children, smoking, alcohol, languages, and hobbies
• Photos: you can upload more than one photo, and each one goes through manual review by our team before it appears to anyone else

Why does manual review matter? So we can ensure every photo on the platform is real and appropriate — no fake or abusive photos slip through without a real person from our team seeing them first. This step takes longer than automated review, but it's a core part of our commitment to seriousness and safety — full details are on our safety commitment page.
